Yes, this is turtle soup. And yes, I have eaten this. I lived in China from January 2009-June 2011, and definitely came across some strange foods.I really hate how people eat dogs and cats. Like they seriously chop them up alive. Cruel people. Well I have a story to tell. When we were in China, me being 11 years old then, I was obsessed with animals. Especially reptiles. So anyways, the grocery store, "Zhang Bai", I recall it being named, was quite a strange store. It was the meat section of the store that they sold gigantic frogs, that me and my siblings bought for pets. Well, the Chinese intend to eat them, and I can't understand how they don't lose their appetite just by smelling the meat section. The stench was nauseating. Over next to the frogs were turtles and water snake-like creatures that were also a tasty meal to the Chinese. My first freak out in China had to have been when the grocery store lady tried to cut up my pet frog. I didn't like that. Being back in America, though disgusting, I kind of miss the old smells and sights of the average Chinese grocery store.
